RE: "...do you now sympathise with the Palestinian case, who, after all, were there before Jewish people started flooding in from around the world?"

I think you need to post Jewish/Arab population in the area as far back as there are reliable statistics before you throw around terms like "before" and "flooding". At a minimum, we could quantify disagreements about historical demographics.

I think you need to specify the "Palestinian's case". I see a leadership that was established in 1964, blessed with legitimacy in 1974, and consistently dedicated to the destruction of the Jewish state of Israel and its replacement with an Arab state. I did not see a Palestinian state created in the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem between 1948 and 1967. That was not the objective then, and it is not the real objective, now, in my opinion. By the way, I supported Barak and Clinton and the proposal at Taba. I thought it would bring peace and I was happy at that prospect. I have changed my view because the people of Israel have changed there's. The article about "failed states" caused me to realize that Hamas has more influence on who will lead Israel than who will lead the Pals. Sharon should probably send them a "Thank You" card.
