The Chips & Technology LCD display driver technology should accommodate this "desktop FPD" almost directly. They would need to scale the display limits to match the larger number of pixels in these displays - typically 1024 x 768 or 1240 x 1024.

Compaq Computer has already entered this FPD market. They are selling a 15 inch TFT LCD display for desktops - but the display ALONE is about $3500!

For this high end, more features such as 3D visualization/rendering would be required. Perhaps the Real 3D chip that Intel Chips & Lockheed (with AGP interface) can be upgraded to TFT/LCD output.
