Did they eat bread as the flesh of god and drink wine as his blood, believing that these would bring them passage in after life? I once did a paper on Dionysis and do not remember such a thing.


Orpheus, Attis,and Oriris - yes.
Dionysius - they drank wine (to intoxication) and ate flesh, often flesh they'd torn from animals.

I mistrust the reliability of sites like positiveatheism or "keep christ out of xmas". The Vexen site is interesting. Hard to separate his opinions from what can actually be proven historically.
