That's the spirit.

I see SPX 800 as the crucial point. If there's gonna be another rally into next spring to precede the millennium crash then that's the point it has to start from.
In my mind going below 800 is passing the point of no return. The snowball will be already to big to stop, and corporate earnings will follow.
therefore I'll buy your Sep SPX~840 and will put the crossroads there. Oct SPX~730 will IMO lead to scenario (i) only instead of flat market I forecast a continous moderate slide into the next millennium, with '99 target at 400 and flat market 400-500 from then on.
Your scenario (ii) will end much worse. Therefore I hope the market won't come back from 800.
What do you think are the global implications of the two scenarios?
