Our beloved provincial government just added to the budget up here to hire 300 more highway cops. Unreal!

Up here, on the major highways, the traffic universally zips along without problems at 120 Km to 125 Km (speed limit 100Km). That is, until someone sees a cop on the side of the road, whereupon everybody slams on the brakes and the fender-benders begin.

Of course the slower they force the traffic to move, the less efficient the highway becomes, which means that more of them must be built. Brilliant.

Personally, I have long since come to view traffic tickets as just one more way in which our governments reach into our back pockets.

As far as a good investment is concerned, I'm looking for a company that can produce a completely non-detectable radar/laser detector (and up here, it is illegal to use a radar detector). I'b buy their product in a minute and invest as well. (g)
