Isn't it funny... when NASDAQ went to decimals, traders hated it so much... you could read all kinds of ominous predictions (death of salesm... err, daytrader, etc). Now when SEC is going to reexamine decimalization, traders (well, not all of them, gotta admit) scream "no way, don't widen spreads". I know, we hate changes... but heck, it took about 1 month at most to adjust to decimals, how long is it going to take to adjust to nickels?
