BWAC, you are an accountant right? Do you happen to know of other opportunity costs that are expensed? I assume there are some. I know that for example, unused buildings are an opportunity cost, you don't expense those (I mean this is so ridiculous even to suggest I know)... also there are large purchasing contracts that have volume/price breaks baked in which can backfire and those costs are not expensed.
