ARM Announces Launch of RealView Model Library Delivering SystemC™ models of ARM cores to ARM designers for System-Level-Design
CAMBRIDGE, UK – May 14, 2003 – ARM (LSE:ARM); (Nasdaq:ARMHY)], the industry's leading provider of 16/32-bit embedded RISC processor solutions, today announced a family of models suitable for ARM® core-based System-Level Design. By enabling ARM-based designers to explore design trade-offs in SystemC, the RealView® Model Library enables systems designers to create complex SoCs, using industry proven models, whilst shortening their total time-to-market.
The RealView Model Library delivers SystemC models for cycle-accurate co-validation and accurate system benchmarking, as well as message-level SystemC models for architecture exploration and software development. In addition to these SystemC models, the RealView Model Library also offers high-speed, cycle-accurate models for register transfer level (RTL) simulation.
The SystemC models incorporate the recently-announced AMBA™ SystemC interface (see press release…ARM Announces AMBA SystemC Interface to Enable System-Level Design…Mar. 3, 2003) to ease the integration issues encountered with full system design simulations.
"The high-speed demonstrated by the models in RealView Model Library enables designers to work quickly and efficiently, reducing time-to-market and improving design quality," said Jon Connell, product manager, models, ARM. "Providing a library of models delivers a flexible, cost-effective design solution to ARM designers and also provides the opportunity to evaluate new ARM technology in a wide range of environments."
By targeting industry-standard SystemC, VHDL and Verilog simulation environments, the RealView Model Library delivers a comprehensive set of models for SoC development. All RealView Model Library SystemC models are compatible with the ARM RealView Debugger.
Availability RTL development models from the RealView Model Library are available now. High-speed, accurate SystemC models compatible with the AMBA™ SystemC interface will be available from Q3 2003. RealView Model Library licensees can choose between flexible license options that enable individual models or the entire family of models. More information on RealView Model Library is available from arm.com.
About the ARM RealView Development Solution RealView tools provide designers with the best solution for creating and analysing systems based on ARM technology. They are designed and used by the same engineers who create the ARM architecture. ARM tools are exposed to the highest level of pre- and post-silicon evaluation and development. As a result, the ARM RealView development solution provides the broadest possible range of support for future ARM architectures and derivatives. ARM RealView tools are fully integrated and provide a complete solution to any design or SoC integration challenge, giving the developer higher confidence in first silicon and a faster time-to-market.
The complete ARM RealView development solution includes:
* RealView compilation tools including a C and C++ compiler, assembler and linker – now available as a stand-alone package * RealView debug solution made up of the RealView Debugger module, RealView ICE and RealView Trace module * Integrator™ family of development and prototyping boards |
