that was always one of my arguments. Why should ebay or amazon suffer "expenses" which are so much more severe than say, RJ Reynolds if each of these companies doles out the same number of options and has a roughly equivalent stock price? The fact that ebay or amzn stock is "hot", which will result in a high black scholes estimate, shouldn't be factored into somebody's reports as if the buzz generated about some company is some sort of liability- come on this is just common sense.
