Hi Ray - I never touched PGO - got my fingers burnt by some of my own 'great ideas' .

I've made some good money on the recover of RRI, MIR, CNP, etc. Basically Wall Street, Enron and some unnammed parties pushed them almost to BK, and ran off with a bunch of money. Then some of the banks & bond holders who got ripped off decided to save the companies instead of letting all the pieces go at 10 cents on the dollar to the buyout sharks.

Of course, some of the banks now saving the power compannies were the same banks that set them up and ripped them off. (But I expect the investment bank and trading departments were ripping out money that the commercial side put in lots of times)

AS I get more cynical, I seem to do better. Big article in "heard on the street" in the Wall Street Journal, where the buyout sharks were complaining that the power companies should really be BK and would have a hard time refinancing....Most stocks mentioned up about 4-6% since that article.

The pools are out there - now called hedge funds.

Bucket shops - Vancouver Stock exchange. ADRs and certain electronic exchanges also come to mind, but I'm still learning about that.

Comming soon : Inflation like the 1970s.

Also, a big natural gas crisis JUST LIKE CALIFORNIA HAD. Hey Sequels work for Hollywood....
