The Chinese government is insane. They refuse to report on SARS infections in the military, period. New SARS patients don't appear to have any discernible connection to old patients. They can't coordinate in order to accurately calculate death rates or verify treatment results. In advance of WHO inspections, hospitals set up shams in order to fool the inspectors. And they censor negative reporting.http://www.sarswatch.org/comments.php?id=300_0_1_0_C

Under Russian communism, the old joke was "we pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us." Well, in China it appears that the new joke is "they pretend to treat us, but we die for real." Sheesh.
