Joe: I agree with you that some of the internal components of the earnings
release are going to be the keys to whether AOL can hold at this level
or suffers a setback. And, as a bull on the stock for the past year, I
have to be nervous that the AOL we've all come to know and love may be capable
of delivering on the overall numbers (or at least coming close enough to
declare victory), but isn't likely to produce an earnings statement that
investors will love from top to bottom.

Still, I'm flabbergasted by your statement that you would feel safer in some
penny stock. I'll grant you that some of them pay off with fivefold returns,
but what are the odds. Unless you have some incredible sources of info, I would
guess that you're looking down the barrel of odds against you of 10-1, 100-1 or
even 1,000-1 -- all of which would make a potential fivefold payoff a
complete suckers bet.
