There are certain places the shortcut has to be if you are using XP. The program must already have a shortcut icon on the Desktop, Start menu, or the All Programs menu. If you try to follow the steps below to assign a shortcut key to an application that doesn’t have such a shortcut, you will find that its Properties dialog box won’t have the Shortcut tab necessary to do so
