Y'all need to read more Molly Ivins to grasp the real essence of the Texas legislature. Grandstanding and wasteful are what they do for breakfast down in Austin; hell, that's why the good citizens of Texas only let them meet once every two years. Any more and they could do some real damage.

Which makes the governorship of Texas a total joke, but that's another story.....

(Yeah, I grew up in Dallas, whaddya gonna do about it - LOL)
