It COULD be cowardly- if you're willing to throw out the dictionary, as Hal is. If you're going to throw out the dictionary blowing up innocent civilians could also be "cheery", "perky", and "cute". Of course I'm not willing to throw out my dictionary- not when there are perfectly apropos words like "terrible", "horrible", "brutal" and "inhumane" in there. If you HAVE a dictionary and know how to use it, there is no need to use inapt words. Maybe some day everyone will learn to use a dictionary- until that day, satirizing the people who don't have one and can't use one will have to suffice :-)
