As I have said before, as a sharholder, I totally support Apple's
position in the licensing negotiation. Both Umax and Power Computing
have declared to enter WinTel sales, I wish them luck to compete with
Dell, Compaq, IBM, and HP. If they use entering WinTel sales as a
bargain chip, Apple would not consider it as a threat. It is clear
that if Apple fails, can clones succeed? I doubt it.

Of course, I hope both sides will pull one step backwards in order to
reach mutual argeement. If increasing appropriate amount of license
fee could resolve and make Apple reach the break even point, I think
it is reasonable for everybody in this community. Clones including
Motorola and IBM have to consider Apple has its own position to
recover back from its red ink, meanwhile Umax and Power Computing have
considerable profits. The lost market share from Apple was a gain
by clones, which was not Apple original intention. Apple would like
to see clones market share gain is from WinTel, not Apple.

I hope every member in this community should be far-sighted, take
everybody else loss as its own loss. I am really great that Apple
is going to have strong members of board of directors, which enables
Apple to stand even firmer in this issue.

IMHO
