What a novel idea, buying stock in a company because you believe in their product!
well, the fact that one can now make money long on AAPL and short on MSFT has to be the turning point of this market.
we have macs in every room, a mac at the office and apple stock bought at book value. Larry Ellison is one of those guys that takes no prisoners in war, he's tied Sun into his plans to squash Bill, the network computer is going to be the Asian standard. Bill can't compete in an Asian market that doesn't understand individuality and privacy and thinks buying his products is absurd. He stole public-domain shareware and sold it to businesses for obscene prices and now gets outraged when the Asian market treats it like public-domain shareware. At least apple and Larry have some originality.
BTW, I have missed the dips in WIND, I will buy at the next dip. If there is a next Microsoft this is it. I also wonder if Identix and SDTI are worth buying, the only secure encryption combines a variety of technologies. This industry is still fragmented and due for consolidation.
Other stuff I like just because I believe in what they're doing is DKB and ABTX, agribiotech and dekalb genetics are genetically engineering seeds to increase their yield and hardiness. (End world hunger!..)
I know it's a novel idea to buy stock because you believe in the company and you want them to do well, but maybe it'll be the new millenium trend for investing. Let's start it here!
