It's not clear whether the action is that unusual. Nevertheless, state legislative majorities "running amuck" is par for the course everywhere. Luckily, voters have the final say, albeit down the road.

Redistricting just after the decade census is the rule; trying to redo redistricting whenever one party gets a majority is, at best an exception. I understand a parallel Rep attempt has been made in Colorado. Hopefully, the courts will have a little common sense. If we go down this road further, we change the entire governmental structure into majoritian rule. I like Fareed Zakaria's term from it: illiberal democracy.
