Jay, have you looked at Palladium as an alternative to Gold/Platinum? I have recently been buying it instead of Gold to achieve my goal of having 4% of the portfolio in PMs. It sells well below production costs in NA, and my understanding is it can do almost anything that Platinum can at (currently) less than one third the price of Pt. Its current price is less than $170/oz and has hit $1000 in the recent past.
