Amazing, isn't it?
It seems to me that if you get a commission on the buy AND the sell, and can do this over and over and over - and get away with this behavior time and again, then why should they care if they get it right?
To downgrade a company which has a problem that is not public yet takes guts and the risk of beeing wrong. Similarly, to upgrade a company when the problems are resolved like ASND (we hope), and the road ahead is clear takes some guts too. They would rather go with the flow rather than take ANY risk, IMO.
Sometimes as investors we have to go with the flow, and other times go against it. I did a lot of buying in March and April when the networking world was coming to an end (to listen to everyone crying) - BAY, COMS, CSCC, FORE, ORCL, ASND, etc., but if I LISTENED to the ANALysts, I would never have touched them then. |
