no really, giving credit where credit is due...yours was an excellent, cogent analysis of the signal to noise ratio... best i've seen yet on si ....and really does make one wonder if we'll see anything close to the number of messages posted during the hayday of the bull market....partially because the tech bull coincided with the advent of the proliferation of internet messaging...somewhere, i believe it was on the Computer Learning thread, i posted an article about internet usage and i was quite amazed at the percentages of people who do not have access or use it if the do or even care about it one way or another....SI has always been weighted toward technology stocks...indeed , i believe the posting volume directly correlated to the tech boom and crash, just as you so accurately depicted.

(remember the days when internet analysts would actually factor "page views" or "page hits" in their valuation model??? yikes)
