I think the Bosnia/Kosovo situation is different from the Iraqi one, K. In those cases, the peacekeeping forces protect against a resurgence of ethnic cleansing by the Serbs. And those forces are either NATO or UN, forget just which. In Iraq, they will be, for the near term, US (with a slight sprinkling of Brits, I gather) and, having no international legitimacy and a great deal of suspicion that it's about the oil or ME hegemony, they will be viewed, at best, suspiciously.
