It's simply a tax by another name, with no obligation by the feds to pay back any particular part of same to swindled taxpayers in their dotage.

Yep.. money currently being denied to the consumer..

I wouldn't mind so much if all of that SSTF money was dedicated to another agency responsible for ensuring it is spent SOLELY on projects that create economic value (infrastructure, R&D, college support programs... etc)

They pale in comparison to the real swindle -- a few trillion absent from DOD. Again.

Yep... And they'd better get a handle on it.. And I think it could be Rumsfeld's way of scaring his generals to get in line and make some drastic changes...

But I can say from my experience in the military, EVERYTHING we were issued, or were responsible for, was accounted for... All the way from Hand Receipts for using equipment to reports of survey for loss or damage..
