Oh please. I am telling you how CPI and PPI (inflation, in other words) are CALCULATED - i.e. from price increases.

Why would I pretend to argue the ultimate truth about inflation better than all the Austrian Economists and their writtings

It is not some mystical higher truth that myself or your Vienna bunch reign over. It is how it's calculated, for crying out loud.

My feeling is that something was lost in translation. They CANNOT have said "inflation is not price increases".

Just look it up. I don't have any more time for this.

Oh wait. I just looked up your quote, on which you were basing your argument that "inflation is not price increase". Did you just FORGET to paste the second part, bolded here for your benefit?

Similarly, the essence of inflation is not a general rise in prices but an increase in the supply of money, which in turns sets in motion a general increase in the prices of goods and services

Thank you for this waste of time. At the end of the day, your "Austrian school" was not saying "inflation is not rising prices", after all.
