I think we're seeing people using the press and whatever other pressure they can in terms of commercial negotiation - a not unusual strategy.

I have no idea whether Apple's position (on the terms upon which it is to licence the Mac OS8)is reasonable or unreasonable. I'd be prepared to bet that a lot of the clone-makers thought they had it over a barrel, and were holding out for very favourable terms. Now that Apple's position is looking up, no doubt its trying to drive a harder bargain, and the "other side of the table" is trying to pressure them in other ways.

I'm sure it'll be sorted out, one way or the other.

I think the liability questions alone will ensure that it has to license system 8 - the question is the basis.
