>>>But, she has a book out!<<<
Ahh, not just "a book," she has *several* books out, as she so kindly reminded us all weekend. Tuned in today for a little while and it was just as annoying. She says, "I've been in the financial services business for 25 years, that's what makes me the 'Goddess of Money'." I wanted to puke when she said this. So, based on this comment, we are to believe that seniority alone determines one's hierarchy as an expert in the financial services game. What does she think this is--the Teamsters union (seniority) or a business where you're judged by performance, not time on the clock. Yeah right. And from what I gathered, most of this 25 years was spent working for a bank--well, not counting the time she took off to write those books we kept hearing about. Working for a bank teaches you how to *count* money--not manage it. Reminds me of the old adage, "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach (or in this case, write books)."
I also scratched my head when I heard the comment about a 10% correction being no big deal at Dow 8000, compared to a 10% correction at Dow 2000. That was the most brain-less comment I have EVER heard on a financial show.
As someone said earlier on this thread, BB is in no danger of losing his job to the self-proclaimed "Goddess." Bob, since we all know you read this thread, I would like to throw my hat into the ring the next time you want to take a weekend off. I've been a featured guest on TV and radio financial talkshows, so I do have the experience. My forte is in individual stocks, and I have a good grasp of no-load funds knowledge to boot. Here's the kicker, Bob: I have *not* written any books, so I won't have anything to shamelessly plug in your absence. We'll just have a nice Q&A session on individual stocks and funds while you take a weekend off--you can even lay down the parameters of what I can talk about. Since I'm nowhere near as good as you are, your listeners will be very glad to see you back from your vacation, but they won't be as disappointed when they tune in during your absence. I promise I won't even make up a silly nickname for myself like "Goddess of Money." Email me if you're interested. And take a gander at that ANEN that I mentioned a few weeks ago--earnings are due out this week.
