LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- National Processing Company, LLC. (NPC®), a leading provider of payment settlement services and a wholly owned subsidiary of National Processing, Inc. (NYSE: NAP), announced it has teamed with Nebo Systems, Inc. to deliver claim payment processing to the Nebo Systems provider community. Under the terms of the agreement, Nebo Systems will distribute claim payment data from NPC's global platform for electronic settlement of healthcare payments, HealthePay(SM), to its providers in Illinois, Indiana and Texas.

Nebo Systems, Inc. specializes in online, real-time electronic data processing of healthcare information utilizing a variety of integrated software solutions to greatly enhance the speed and accuracy of the EDI process. Nebo Systems processes over 6,000,000 healthcare transactions monthly for over 1,500 healthcare facilities.

NPC's HealthePay platform enables payers to more effectively manage and facilitate claim payments to the provider community. Providers access payment information via a secure web site and benefit from the electronic transfer of claim payments to their bank account. Payers utilizing the HealthePay solution are able to outsource the administrative functions associated with printing and mailing checks, along with the explanation of payments (EOPs) and check reconciliation activities. NPC provides the one-source solution for both the provider and payer.

"This agreement provides significant benefits to NPC's payer customers -- providing a seamless link to a growing number of providers," stated John T. McRae II, senior vice president of Payment Services for NPC. "One of our main goals with the HealthePay platform is to support the migration from paper- based to electronic-based payments for our payer customers. By partnering with companies like Nebo, we are able to quickly identify connected providers who are ready to automate more of their processes, like claim payments. Access to these providers helps our payer customers more rapidly increase their volume of electronic payments, thus reducing costs."

Provider offices utilizing the Nebo suite of eCare® services will now be able to receive and automatically post payment data to their accounts receivable systems, plus receive direct deposit of their claim payments. "We look forward to working with NPC as our electronic settlement partner for healthcare payment services," said Peter Karahalios, chief operating officer for Nebo Systems, Inc. "NPC's ability to provide electronic remittance information and electronic funds transfer further enhances the value we bring to our provider customers. In addition, the payment tracking data supported within the HealthePay platform will provide our customers with the tools they need to better manage their cash flows and practice operations."
