Well, is it the degree of canadianicity, or the general state of the market for mining issues? .... the border is not so hard to cross with cash money - just look at those big malls planted right south of the line, they're there for a reason ... a reason that is coming back now too, with some of the seigneurage air coming out of the greenback [some of them were in real trouble for a while, a big one in Bellingham apparently, it was on the news here that it's starting to get business again] ... but i digress
It's true that most US houses treat canadian equities as 'foreign' and do not handle them well, or on terms cost-efficient to the player .... but some do, and it's not all that hard to cross the line .... it's more of a psychological barrier than anything, on the level of joe average speculator .... imho ... canucks have little to no problem in crossing the line to the south, playing New York and Nasdaq, we do it all the time, our houses all have F accounts, usd margin .... it's just not a big deal, no difficulty at all
Still, the difference exists, and must be dealt with by the companies ... why Southernera is not already on the Amex, this i'd like to know .... should have been long ago, imho
agi.v - good idea there, for them to vend a chunk to say Glamis[?] ... one third of total shares [50% increase] for ~usd30m? ... and get onto the Amex too, all in one smooth move
suf.to - just called the bottom there, as of 5.00 today ... we shall see, lol
xcl.to - calling bottom there too, as of thursday ... time for a swing back, i think, gulp |
