<ALOG>Analogic Corporation Named `Company of the Year' by The Boston Globe

PEABODY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 2003--Analogic
Corporation (NASDAQ: ALOG) announced today that it has been named
"Company of the Year" in The Boston Globe's fifteenth annual edition
of The Globe 100, ranking the best-performing publicly held companies
based in Massachusetts.
Bernard M. Gordon, Founder, Chairman and CEO, said, "Analogic is
honored to be named by The Boston Globe as the 'Company of the Year.'
This recognition was earned by the extraordinary efforts of our
employees, who are engaged in a broad spectrum of activity, from
developing the world's most advanced explosive detection systems to
high performance digital radiography and Computed Tomography (CT)
systems for niche medical applications.
"We are known for inventing instant imaging Computed Tomography,
and being a leader in medical CT. We drew on our considerable medical
CT experience to develop the world's first dual-energy, multislice
security CT, the EXplosive Assessment Computed Tomography (EXACT(TM))
system, the only security scanner able to image every object in a bag
in three dimensions. This past year our staff developed what many
believe to be the world's most advanced CT manufacturing facility to
build explosive detection systems. We have also designed two new
certified ARGUS-type systems to scan checked luggage at regional
airports, and a new carry-on, carry-in luggage scanner for airports,
public buildings, and parcel services that is in development."
John W. Wood, Jr., recently appointed President of Analogic,
noted, "Security imaging has attracted much public attention, but our
staff has also made significant advances in medical imaging during the
past year. We began shipping new families of CT and digital
radiography systems, along with innovative new subsystems for CT,
digital radiography, and magnetic resonance imaging.
"With an eye on future growth, we have also substantially
increased our investment in developing new advanced health and
security systems for our customers. For example, over the past year we
initiated development of five new families of CT systems for medical
and security applications, new generations of patient monitors, and an
innovative system to protect civilian aircraft from heat-seeking,
shoulder-fired missiles.
"Analogic's selection as 'The Company of the Year' by The Globe
100 is indeed a great honor, and a fitting recognition for what our
employees have achieved over the past year."
Analogic Corporation is a leading designer and manufacturer of
advanced health and security systems and subsystems sold to Original
Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The Company is recognized worldwide
for advancing the state of the art in Computed Tomography (CT),
Digital Radiography (DR), Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging
(MRI), Patient Monitoring, Cardiovascular Information Management, and
Embedded Multicomputing.

ALOG could move on raising the terror alert...
