Hi Kit,

I believe that we had a similar situation 2 and 3 years ago on the Canadian side, but then in February of 2002 there was what seemed like "Canadian Juniors Recognition Week" during which many were up 10-20% and it seemed as if the drought was over and the profits through last May were huge... which created an expectation of a repeat performance which has not been fulfilled this year... leading to the current disappointment. Expectations are a big part of the psychology of the market and it seems that many are selling the juniors now because of the disappointment and in doing so are contributing to their underperformance. At some point their value relative to the HUI stocks will be recognized again and they will play catch-up in a hurry, but it's not clear when that will happen.

IMO, this is just the way the market works. After a home run year, I am back to hitting singles, which isn't so bad if I can adjust my expectations to the current reality.

Regards,

vt
