CR the WebTV thing was just to prove a point that Windows is a dying OS.
I have stated this a long time ago but I will repeat it again.
The average consumer doesn't want to monkey around with the OS or install software. They just want to run applications.

Windows doesn't deliver this concept. Java applications doesn't need Windows OS to run. What would you say if the average consumer could turn on the TV and run computer applications. I bet in the future WebTV and Sun with its newly purchased Diba will do this.

The ingredients necessary to develop this concept is Java software, networks, server, client which could be a browser or thin client.
This will not happen over night but it's moving in that direction.

The good Dr Cowpland can see this and is pushing Java (cool technology) which will be very dominate next year. But right now he is focusing on Office applications were I think the technology is in place to make it work now. Time will tell.

<Why do they not switch to O/S 2 Warp or DR Dos?>
You forgot one LINUX.

Lack of applications but Java will soon change that.

Go Java GO
