No! Bonehead. I am telling you that you can not have a reasonable election with 100 milion voters, if you must do a subjective analysis of every voters punch card to try an determine their intent (rather than their choice). If you want your vote to count, then make sure that you cast a valid ballot.
Before I go to vote, I use the voter guide (which every registered voter gets), and complete the sample ballot. When I get to the polling place, I already know which holes must be punched. After I vote, I check the card to make sure that I did not make a mistake. If I did, I would ask for a new card. I know that my vote will count, because I invest 5 mintues to make sure that my work is correct.
The idiots that don't bother to read the instructions can not complain. And we know that Broward county is very well educated, so we can not pretend that the poor people were illiterate.
You claim that Bush stole the election. That just is not true. The fact is that Democrats blew the election in three ways:
1) Gore neglected Tennessee and Arkansas. Either of which would have won him the election.
2) A good number of dissatisfied Dems voted for Nader. Just like Perot spoiled the election for Bush Sr.
3) 19000 voters in Broward county (mostly democrats) double voted. THe previous election, 16000 voters in Broward county double voted, and historically, the number has been very high. The idiot Dems running this county had years to fix their system, but failed.
You must also consider the very close western states, where Republican voter turnout declined ithe final hours, after Gore was predicted to win. And Peter Jennings saying "we won". The NEw teams with their "unbiased" reporting, actually affected the outcome of the election. Who knows, without the incorrect assessment, two hour before western state's pools closed, Bush might have carried New Mexico, and Oregon, both of which were very close.
All in all, the election stunk. But, when the dust settled down, Bush carried Fla by ~500 votes. |
