The way I see it:
The majority of Israelis are willing to compromise (including ridding of the settlements)...I don't know about a majority, but many Palestinians are willing to compromise as well.
What kept the P. from reaching an agreement with Israel is their past(???)leadership.
As long as there was a conflict going it kept the leadership in power. This means control over huge amount of money that streamed in for their "cause".A second reason was the desire of some groups to take control over the entire state of Israel.
Those groups and leadership chose terrorism as means to achieve their goals, that terrorism caused the hard liners Israelies to prevail and dominate in Israel, thus no deal.
The only thing that will stop those terrorist groups is the P. themselves, not Israel. When the majority of P realizes that terror is not the solution and they stop supporting those groups, peace will come.
They also have to ignore Tommy and Len and the rest of the boys here who live in another world of their own.
