announces that with the addition of the Simms Communications Inc. DebitLink
Point of Sale Terminal and INSTAFONE Automated Cellular Distribution Centre
products CANCALL is actively pursuing the rapidly growing business of
pre-paid electronic commerce.
Of the nearly 3 million specialty retail stores in the USA only
100,000 currently offer electronic payment options to their customers.
Through its' proprietary DebitLink terminals, CANCALL will penetrate this
market by offering new income sources to these retailers by providing a
full pre-paid, refillable product line of Stored Value Cards, including
long distance calling cards, gasoline cards, internet value cards, value
added cards and affinity cards. The Company has also entered into
discussions to develop its' internet cash card "NETWORTH".
The CANCALL DebitLink terminal is an ATM based read/write integrated
multi-purpose transaction processor. It accepts ATM cards, all major
credit cards and performs cash and automated check verification
transactions. CANCALL DebitLink terminals have leading edge proprietary
softwware, which enables the unit to activate and recharge Cancall pre-paid
products on a "real-time" basis. With this innovation, vendors no longer
have to pay in advance for "live" or preloaded products, such as prepaid
calling cards.
The Company is also pleased to announce that Ken Gelhorn, CA has
joined the Board of Directors and has been appointed Chief Financial
Officer and Michael Moore, CPA, CFP has been appointed Comptroller.
Gelhorn has 25 years experience as a Chartered Accountant and information
systems consultant while Moore has over 20 years experience as a Certified
Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner. Both Gelhorn and Moore
have considerable experience as Chief Financial Officers of private and
public companies in Canada and the USA. Gelhorn is based in Vancouver and
Moore is based in the Los Angeles area. Their addition to the organization
reflects the Company's commitment to financial control and international
growth.
