He is not the first liberal infatuated with Camelot trying to clean Kennedy's record. Invariably, these guys are wrong. Typically, someone will pull a quote of Kennedy saying we must eventually pull out of Vietnam. They always ignore the part where Kennedy says this will only happen after we win, and that losing is not an option. And all of those sentiments are identical to the sentiments of Johnson, Nixon, etc.

Kennedy didn't start the imperial conquest of Indochina, but he did his part to keep it going (as did Johnson, Nixon, etc.).
