The common assumption is that the Fed controls money the money supply. I've pretty much gone along with that assumption.

They might not do it directly as you say, i would need to do more research to understand the process.

But i would bet dollars to donuts, that treasury cordinates with the fed to control money supply. And given the power of Greenspan, i would bet they would not make a move without his ok. Therefore, i feel correct in saying that Greenspan is in control of the money supply.
