Milosevic was becoming too powerful a regional force It doesn't make sense. Tito was much more powerful than Milosevic and that did not destabilize the region. The real incentive for intervention in the Balkans was that their war would lead to a direct conflict between Turkey and Greece with a Balkan civil war in the middle, and that would be destabilizing to Europe and NATO.
