Those poor sods must be both brave and desperate. The Hamas guys they are demonstrating against are well armed and not nice characters. It is a sign of what will bring a real glimmer of hope to the situation (not this false roadmap to nowhere) - war weariness among the Palestinians.

But Arafat has to go. Even exile to Paris would not be safe, only dead is safe. Then the wars of succession must happen. Abu Mazen is a Potemkin Prime Minister with no popular support. I hold out no hope for this, and I can only suppose that Bush is paying off his debts to Tony Blair.
