Why hasn't it manifested itself in weaker bond and large cap stock prices if true? I agree with the scenario, I'm just perplexed about the forces driving it. If it's a bunch of hedge funds, we will get whipsawed on our overall view.

I'm more modestly bearish, except on the financial/credit sector. The large cap QQQ names are fairly vulnerable. The energy stocks will disconnect from the market; they are way too underowned. I will reenter sectors like biotech and defense, and other "special situations" (I've located some neat small cap plays) again on a fear spike, and when shorts pile back in.

<What has changed the mindset?, targeted level? >

I don't think the US has any control of the USD decline, unless they choose to defend the currency at some point with much higher interest rates.
