In Mexico the presence of manganese, antimony, arsenopyrite and mercury are potential problems. Different styles of mineralization have different gold-silver ratios. For example, a low sulfidation epithermal deposit may have a gold to silver ratio of 1:100. A high sulfidation deposit may be 1:10. As far as i know you can't have too much of this stuff. The grade of some of the Mexican deposits is stated in kilos of silver not ounces.

Every deposit is a unique chemical event and they are all different.
