Re: Who's Gammon?

Oops, typo. Bill Sammon. The author of the fluff agitprop you posted.

Re: And Missile Defense capabilities ALREADY exist Ray..

You are comparing apples to oranges. I was discussing ICBMs. The Patriot system is best used on battlefield tactical weapons.

Re: Can you even begin to contemplate how difficult a task that is to achieve, considering the closing speeds involved between both missiles??

Once the Department of Death finally declassifies the actual success rates, yes. As you will recall, the Death Men sold the American public and the world a complete bill of goods on how successful their first attempts at using the Patriot missile interceptors in Gulf War I. They lost all their credibility on that one. Why should I believe anything they say today?

Re: Even if they have it, they will not be able to carry out a credible threat of using them when it is almost guaranteed they will be intercepted and their own nation targeted for a potential nuclear counter-strike.

I absolutely marvel at your illogic. For 50 years of the Cold War, deterrence alone took care of keeping keeping the Ruskie Bear under control, though it was probably just divine providence that we were able to keep Curtis LeMay under control. With a 50 year track record with a real enemy, you now disregard history and say that North Korea cannot be deterred, but rather that we full belts and suspenders, both a defensive missile shield and the ability to turn North Korea into a suburb of the planet Mercury? Sometimes you are just plain silly. At least I can understand why Rummy wants this system. He's in it for the bribes and kickbacks. What's in it for you?

Re: THAAD --

Have you honestly examined the accountancy for this white elephant? It's so horrible that it has had to be classified as a matter of "national security". THAAD is the poster child for Department of Death boondoggles and corruption.
