An afterthought: Just thinking regarding rumors and mergers, if the recent mergers seem like big deals maybe they are just a preliminary exercise leading to much bigger deals to come. So maybe the ASND & CSCC and COMS & USRX may in the long term look like small cheese in comparison to future deals. The big mergers are still to come, like maybe Lucent goes after Ascend, or Compaq buys CS, BAY or DGN. Also, I believe that the Lucents, Nortels, Siemens, Alcatels, Erricsons and other telecom players are going to go after the networking companies because voice over frames or cells is a major threat to their traditional CO switching and multiplexing businesses.
