"All the Israelis and the Americans deny it, even Agha and Malley who generally take the Palestinian side, and the Palestinians themselves didn't start to claim it until about nine months after Taba,...."
Since you do not refer to a site where one can see the "true" map I take it that any refutation by the Israelis and the Americans must be taken with a grain(several tons) of salt. As to the 9 month delay, I suspect that the publication of the maps was put off in order to enable both parts to negotiate further. If they had access to the maps at all then publicizing them immediately would put the Palestinians in a bad light.
Agha and Malley's article, The Last Negotiation in Foreign Affairs was interesting and to the point. Thanks for the hint.
I couldn't find any articles referring to the maps in Foreign Affairs, perhaps you can send a reference.
The PR damage you refer to is diffuse, could you expand on this as it refers to the maps.
