It is a basic fact that Germany fought with Finland (in Finland)
but Finland did not fight with Germany (in the rest of Europe).

You need to take another look at that air-force emblem, with some luck
you can decide that Finland and India were allied since maybe
3,000 BC or even earlier.

Something about turning, like a propeller, although this one is funnier "When the fortunes of war turned",
as long wars are seldom a question of "fortune" in the meaning "luck", however, in the meaning
of "material possessions" it is fairly accurate.

I also hope you know the meaning of extricate, "To release from an entanglement or difficulty;
disengage." as nobody thought it would be simple to have a border some 20-30 miles from
St Petersrburg (which turns 300 years these days) just before WW2.
