Most people get their news from the broadcast networks. The broadcast networks basically shape their agendas based upon the WP, the NYT, and, to a lesser extent, papers like the Globe and the LA Times, as well as the wire services. That means that people mainly get the world view promulgated by liberal papers on national and international issues. In fact, most people who read local papers do so for local coverage. In a town like Annapolis, the daily had a few top wire service stories, and then had almost all local coverage. Kansas City, my wife's native city, is fairly large, and doesn't have much more national and international material in its daily. So it is really Rather and Jennings who have the say in shaping public opinion through news bias.......
