Jim, excellent article. I am especially interested in the part on China. And I would like to clarify one thing though.

From Day one of the founding of new China, China claims Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, and China will one day reunify Taiwan. This has never been changed for last 50+ years, so there is no need for it to “surface”. And when will this happen, and how will this be done? It is everyone's guess. I personally think there would be no liberation by armed force barring Taiwanese gov. goes insane and declares independence. In another 20-30 years of continuing economic development in Mainland China, Taiwan will be reunited without a fight.
