I just got off the phone with AMAT: two people- a rep from IR(Paul Blum) and someone from management(Sherry ????). I said my piece in that I (and many others I have spoken with) thought that this was an uncharacteristic move on AMAT's part and that I was somewhat troubled by it. They reassured me in saying that all of what I said would make it's way up the chain to both Morgan and Splinter, IMO a tacit acknowledgement by the manner in which it was said that this was the wrong thing to do. All in all, I was reassured by the call if for no other reason than to know that they are still listening. Most other companies would not take the time to anser questions with two people. FWIW.
