Well, to connect to the latest on these three wars _during_ the WW2
- Gorbachev came over in the 80s to say "sorry we attacked you without reason"
- the Ribbentrop agreement became the legal base for the independence,etc,etc of many of the
former east block nations
According to that Finland has the legal right to claim back the territories we lost, but
any finn understands that the territories are now full of russians who would then become
refugees just like the finns after 1939, which is obviously something we would not like.
Instead we know that in some 15-30 years these former finnish cities (one the frmrly third
largest) will belong to a special EU region based on St Petersburg.
Additionally the finnish leader, congress were so smart that the finnish state (the people)
already compensated the refugees (10% of population) in a tough program after the wars.
Additionally Finland would have legal right for compensation, reparations, for the destruction
done by the german army in north finland (legally after the unification of the east and west
germany), but the consensus was as is that germany should concentrate on frmr east
germany, as well as poland,etc

However, it is good that you study one of the few common sense solutions to the power politics
practiced before WW1, then leading straight forward to WW2 through even more power politics,
as that is once again a contemporary issue, as well as something to sort out in the future.

Btw, lysator is made by "amateurs", so there are some important issues missing, as well as
not updated.
One example is at the very start
"30 Nov 1939 Soviet Army attacks Finland on all fronts with army, airforce and navy. Stronger forces in the northern areas than Finns had expected. Helsinki bombed, 91 persons killed. 'Guard Groups' delay enemy in the Carelian Isthmus."
Skips the reason for the attack, that Russia claimed Finland fired at russian soldiers over the border, another
thing Gorba made official when officially "admitting" it was russian special forces sent over the border
to fire at the russians, to get the war going. (sounds familiar??)
To understand that one has, once again, go back to pre-WW1 and pre-WW2 "power politics".
