On my mornng walk around the neighborhood here in Pasadena/ Altadena, California, I noticed that a house my wife and I have always liked had a "for sale" sign...

I looked into it today and found that the asking price is $949,000. It was sold a year ago for $749,000.

It has 2800 sq ft on a 20,000 sq ft lot in a very nice area in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains.

Just thought I'd throw that out there re: Los Angeles real estate.
