Hi lml,

>>First, we need a seamless combination of 3G mobile phone and public wireless LAN services<<

Ira drank the kool-aid. end of story. noone needs seamless anything except it would be nice if voice was as good as analog cellular.

>>Two key ingredients are missing. Needed first are PWLAN access points supporting mobile phone standards. This will be a bit more expensive, but the surest way to pay for access points is to put them to work serving the U.S.?s 135 million mobile phone users. <<

Why does anyone care if the public WLAN access points are using licensed frequencies? Over the air is good enough.

>>Also needed are handsets and plug-in cards supporting both mobile phone and wireless LAN standards.<<

When did he get the first clew? Qualcomm says they will put in 802.11 when the market needs it ;-)
